AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Supreme Court has denied a plaintiff's petition to reinstate an $850,000 asbestos verdict that was reversed by an intermediate appellate court on expert admissibility grounds. Bailey, et al. v. Mobil Oil Corp., et al., No. 06-0444 (Texas Sup. Ct.).

The petition was listed among those that were denied in the court's Oct. 27 orders.

Pearlie Bailey, James Thibodeaux, Kevin, Paul and Carolyn Bailey asserted the underlying claims on behalf of decedent James Bailey, contending that his work for Mobil Chemicals and Mobil Oil for a year required him to remove asbestos-containing pipe line. The …
