MIAMI -- Several groups have filed an amici curiae brief in the appeal of a trial court order that found the retroactive application of Florida's asbestos legislation unconstitutional, saying that the plaintiff failed to present evidence that asbestos contributed substantially to her and her late husband's cancers. DaimlerChrysler Corp. v. Hurst, et al., No. 3D06-2593 (Fla. Ct. App., 3rd Dist.).
