WILMINGTON, Del. - U.S. Trustee Frederic J. Baker has appointed a committee of asbestos claimants and of general unsecured creditors who will oversee the bankruptcy proceedings of Owens Corning. In the Matter of Owens Corning, et al., No. 00-3837-3854 (D. Del., Bankr.)
In a two-page order entered Oct. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, Baker assigned some 11 attorneys and 9 bank representatives to round out both committees.
Owens Corning filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code on Oct. 5.
