Bankrupt Asbestos Defendant, Trustee Spar over Appointment of Property Damage Committee

WILMINGTON, Del. - A trustee involved in the Chapter 11 proceedings of Armstrong World Industries is urging the U.S. Bank-ruptcy court to keep intact a committee appointed to represent the interests of those with property damage claims against the bankrupt flooring company.
U.S. Trustee Patricia A. Staiano took the first step in pleading her case Sept. 14 when she filed a response to Armstrong's August motion to disband the committee. Armstrong claims the decision to appoint a committee for property damage claims was unnecessary in light of the fact that there are few such lawsuits filed against the company.
