Jury Awards $2.971 Million in Case Against Bondex




FORT WORTH, Texas -- A Texas jury has entered an award of nearly $3 million against Bondex International Inc., which sources told HarrisMartin was the lone defendant remaining at trial. Kelvin Sandel and Gloria Sandel v. Bondex International, Inc., No. 153-206444-04 (Texas 153rd Dist. Ct., Tarrant Cty.).

The $2.971 million verdict was entered Jan. 20 by the Texas 153rd District Court for Tarrant County. Judge Kenneth Curry oversaw the trial.

Sources said that Bondex argued during trial that plaintiff Kelvin Sandel could not have remembered the specific brand of asbestos-containing products to which he alleged exposure.
