PHILADELPHIA –– A Pennsylvania state court has awarded summary judgment to Colgate-Palmolive Co., accepting the defendant’s position that the plaintiff had failed to establish a triable issue on the question of whether the company’s talcum powder product caused the plaintiff to develop mesothelioma.

In a trial work sheet filed Feb. 7 in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County, the court listed that disposition date as Feb. 7, explaining that “summary judgment [had been] granted in favor of Defendant.”
