Wash. Jury Reaches Defense Verdict for John Crane in Case Involving Asbestos-Containing Packing Products

SEATTLE –– A Washington jury has reached a defense verdict in favor of John Crane, rejecting claims that the decedent’s work with the defendant’s asbestos-containing packing products caused him to develop mesothelioma.

The Washington Superior Court for King County jury reached the verdict on March 15. John Crane, named for its role as a sealing product manufacturer, was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the verdict.

Plaintiff Era Yvonne Clevenger filed the underlying complaint, contending that her late husband, James Clevenger came into contact with John Crane’s products while serving on board U.S. Navy ships in the …
