Ore. Court Refuses to Remand Asbestos Suit, Saying It Has ‘Reason to Doubt’ Plaintiff’s Second Waiver of Federal Claims

PORTLAND, Ore. –– The Oregon federal court has refused to remand an asbestos case, saying that it had reason to doubt the plaintiff’s second attempt to waive claims based on alleged exposure on U.S. Naval ships.

In the Feb. 2 order, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon opined that it was “déjà vu all over again,” and that the plaintiff had given the court reason to doubt the second waiver.
