Opening Arguments Start in Asbestos Trial Against J&J for Talcum Powder Products




NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. –– Opening arguments have commenced in an asbestos case against Johnson & Johnson, marking the second time a jury will weigh in on whether the defendant’s talcum powder product caused an individual to develop mesothelioma.

Opening arguments started on Jan. 29 in the New Jersey Superior Court for Middlesex County. Hon. Ana Viscomi is presiding over the trial.

The first case to proceed to trial involving Johnson & Johnson’s talcum powder products and asbestos ended in a defense verdict late last year in California.
