N.Y. Appellate Court Affirms 3 Multi-Million Judgments Entered Against Crane Co. in Separate Asbestos Cases

NEW YORK –– A New York appellate court has rejected challenges to multi-million judgments entered in three separate asbestos cases, finding that the defendant could, in fact, be held liable for third-party replacement products it did not manufacture or supply.

In the Oct. 6 orders, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, wrote in part that the evidence presented at trial supported the conclusion that while Crane Co. did not manufacture asbestos, “for decades it heavily promoted the use of the type of asbestos insulation to which the decedent was exposed.”
