Calif. Court Remands Action Involving Asbestos-Containing Talc Product Bondo

SAN JOSE, Calif. –– A California federal court has remanded an asbestos exposure case involving talc, saying that the plaintiffs had not abandoned their claims against the non-diverse supplier defendant.

In the Aug. 28 order, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California noted that a state court had previously rejected efforts by the supplier to obtain summary judgment on the claims.

The plaintiffs asserted the claims on behalf of Raymond R. Uribes, contending that his work as an auto mechanic for approximately 35 years caused him to come into contact with asbestos-containing products.
