Conn. Court Affirms, Reverses Summary Judgment Awards in Insurance Dispute

HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Connecticut Supreme Court has weighed in on an insurance dispute involving silica defendant Lone Star Industries Inc., in part affirming summary judgment for a number of insurers in the declaratory action after determining that the pollution exclusions in the policies were not unclear. Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. v. Lone Star Industries Inc., et al., No. SC 18199 (Conn. Sup. Ct.).

In the March 24 opinion, the high court also reversed and remanded a number of the summary judgment awards, agreeing in one instance that there was a question as to whether Lone Star had signed off …
