NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has awarded summary judgment to three automobile defendants in an asbestos case, finding the plaintiff had failed to establish a genuine dispute of fact as to whether the decedent was exposed to brakes manufactured by the defendants.

In the Feb. 25 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana further noted that while the plaintiff indicated that he has not yet conducted meaningful discovery, he has not declared what type of discovery he would like to execute and what facts would likely be uncovered as a result of the discovery.
