Pa. Appellate Court Affirms Summary Judgment for Ford Motor, Borg Warner in Asbestos Suit

HARRISBURG, Pa. ¬¬– A Pennsylvania appellate court has affirmed summary judgment awards for Ford Motor Co. and Borg Warner in a secondary asbestos exposure lawsuit, concluding that the plaintiffs had failed to provide evidence sufficient to pierce the corporate veil and hold the defendants liable for foreign entities.

In the Aug. 28 opinion, the Pennsylvania Superior Court agreed with the trial court’s finding that the plaintiffs had not proven that the defendants had control over the automotive products manufactured and supplied by foreign divisions of the companies.
