PHILADELPHIA –– Orders granting summary judgment to five defendants named in an asbestos lawsuit largely conclude that the defendants cannot be held liable under California law for products they did not manufacture or sell.
In a series of October orders recently released on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania’s website for the national asbestos coordinated docket, the MDL Court opined that since several of the products in question could be used in other ways, they do not fit an exception to California’s replacement product liability case law.
