Pa. Jury Enters Defense Verdict After Awarding $175,000 in Meso Case




PHILADELPHIA - A longshoreman who developed mesothelioma while working on docks in Philadelphia was not exposed to asbestos shipped there by the Asbestos Corporation Limited, a state court jury has found. Stuski v. Asbestos Corporation Ltd., No. PCCP Feb. Term 2001-2700 (Pa. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).

Returning a verdict in favor of the defendant Sept. 19, the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas jury determined that it wasn't Asbestos Corporation's product that caused Joseph Stuski's mesothelioma, from which he undisputedly suffered.
