TAMPA, Fla. –– A Florida District Court has denied plaintiff attempts to block the substitution of counsel for a defendant in an asbestos action, ruling that the plaintiffs have not proven that the change in representation will delay the proceedings.
In the Feb. 12 decision, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida assured the plaintiffs that the defense counsel switch “will not impact the Court’s ruling on the Plaintiffs’ pending motion to expedite the trial.”
The plaintiffs filed the lawsuit in Florida state court, contending that Mark Flomenhoft was injured by asbestos exposure.
