CLEVELAND –– Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (NASDAQ:GT) has filed a declaratory action in Ohio federal court, contending that insurance policies it purchased for years provide coverage for underlying asbestos bodily injury and premises claims.
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. filed the complaint on Jan. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio against a number of insurance companies, seeking monetary damages for breach of contract and declaratory relief.
Specifically, Goodyear argues that the insurance company defendants did not fulfill obligations outlined in primary and umbrella general liability policies purchased by Goodyear.
