La. Court Remands Asbestos Action, Says Allegations Sufficient to State Claim

SHREVEPORT, La. –– A Louisiana federal court has remanded an asbestos action, rejecting Georgia-Pacific’s removal of the complaint after it determined that the decedent was not required to have personal knowledge of manufacturers or suppliers of asbestos-containing products.

In the Sept. 24 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana concluded that the plaintiffs’ claims against what Georgia-Pacific argued were no-diverse defendants were sufficient.
