NEW YORK - A state court judge in New York has ruled that Crane Co. had a duty to warn of health hazards associated with asbestos-containing insulation used in conjunction with its boilers, valves and pumps. Tansosch v. A.O. Smith Water Products, et al., No. 190382/10; Zachmann v. A.O. Smith Water Products, et al., No. 190140/11 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., New York Cty.).

In summary judgment rulings filed Feb. 1, New York County Supreme Court Justice Sherry Klein Heitler held that the evidence presented by plaintiffs in two cases demonstrated that Crane recommended the use of asbestos with its products. Crane's …
