G-I Holdings Files Declaratory Action Against Century in Federal Court

PHILADELPHIA -- A manufacturer of asbestos-containing products has filed a declaratory action in federal court, contending that its insurance company has wrongfully declined to defend and indemnify the plaintiff in a number of asbestos-related cases, including a $500 million action filed by the New York City Housing Authority. G-I Holdings Inc., v. Century Indemnity Co., et al., No. 11-00459 (E.D. Pa.).

G-I Holdings filed the complaint on Jan. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, contending that Century Indemnity Co., had breached its obligation to pay for the plaintiff's defense of asbestos-related cases.
