Jury Reaches $12 Million Verdict in Boiler Tender Case Against John Crane




PHILADELPHIA -- A Pennsylvania jury has entered a $12 million verdict against John Crane Inc., finding that its gasket and packing products were a causative factor in a former boiler tender's development of mesothelioma. Van Tassel, et al. v. Alfa Laval Inc., et al., No. 001221-2008 (Pa. Ct. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).

The Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County jury reached the verdict on March 23 after a trial presided over by Judge Esther Sylvester.
