Former Secretary Awarded More Than $17 Million for Asbestos Injuries




BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- After one day of deliberations, an Illinois jury has awarded more than $17 million to a former secretary who worked in a Union Asbestos & Rubber Co. office, sources confirmed to HarrisMartin. Menssen v. Honeywell International Inc., et al., No. n/a (Ill. Cir. Ct., McLean Cty.).

The Illinois Circuit Court for McLean County jury reached the verdict on Feb. 8, sources said. Pneumo Abex, LLC and Honeywell International Inc. were the lone remaining defendants at the time of the verdict.

Judge Michael Prall presided over the four-week trial.
