Parties Reach Settlement in Middle of Iowa Asbestos Trial




DES MOINES, Iowa -- Parties in an Iowa mesothelioma case have reached a confidential settlement while in the middle of trial involving the claims of a pipefitter, sources told HarrisMartin. O'Boyle v. A.W. Chesterton, et al., No. CL106817 (Iowa Dist. Ct., Polk Cty.).

The settlement agreements were reached April 14 between plaintiffs James and Joan O'Boyle and asbestos defendants Crown Cork and Seal Co., Inc. and Greene Tweed & Co., sources said.

Judge Scott D. Rosenberg of Iowa's 5th District Court for Polk County Court presided over the trial.
