AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Senate has passed a bill that would alter admissibility standards for mesothelioma claimants, according to an online report of the Senate actions. Senate Bill 1123, Relating to the standard of causation in claims involving mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos fibers (Texas State Legislature).
The bill, which was read for the second time on April 16 and passed on a 20-11 vote, was read a third and final time on April 20 and was reported engrossed. In the Texas Legislature, a bill must be read and voted upon three times before it is engrossed, or …
