Conn. Jury Reaches $2.6 Million Verdict Against Pump Manufacturer

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Connecticut jury has reached a verdict in favor of a former fireman who claimed that exposure to Allis-Chalmers Corp.'s pumps contained asbestos, leading him to develop mesothetlioma. Fortier, et al. v. Aerco International Inc., et al., No. BA 06-5005849S (Conn. Super. Ct., Jud. Dist. Fairfield).
The award of $2,595,000.00 was entered March 10 by the Connecticut Superior Court for the Judicial District of Fairfield jury after give hours of deliberations.
The claims were asserted by Gail M. Fortier on behalf of David H. Fortier, who worked on the USS Forrestal from 1969 to 1972. Onboard …
