BUTLER, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania trial court has awarded summary judgment to Crane Co., ruling, in part, that the defendant cannot be held liable for asbestos-containing packing supplied by a third party and used in the company's valves. Milich v. Anchor Packing Co., et al., No 08-10532 (Pa. Ct. Comm. Pls., Butler Cty.).
In the March 16 order, the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Butler County additionally found that the plaintiff had not sufficiently established that he worked with packing in the Crane Co. valves or that Crane Co. had specified what packing should be used in the product. …
