Jury Awards $16.925 Million, Assesses .5 Percent Liability to Defendant




LOS ANGELES -- A California jury has awarded nearly $17 million to a former U.S. Naval worker, but has assessed only .5 percent liability to one of the remaining defendants and zero percent liability to another, sources told HarrisMartin. Woodard, et al. v. Alfa Laval Inc., et al., No. BC387774 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

In the Feb. 2 verdict, Los Angeles Superior Court jurors found for defendant Crane Co. on the plaintiffs' negligence and California Consumer Expectation claims, but concluded that the defendant had breached its duty to warn. The jury entered a verdict in favor of Sepco, …
