Samuel “Sam” Geisler, a partner with the firm, focuses his practice primarily in complex civil litigation, including pharmaceutical litigation, such as Xarelto, Onglyza and Proton-Pump Inhibitors; and medical device litigation, including Essure and vaginal mesh. He is among those leading the effort against Skanska USA Civil Southeast on behalf of business owners and individuals who suffered losses as a result of the Pensacola Bay Bridge outage.

Paul Pennock is widely considered one of the best and most aggressive plaintiff litigators in the country. His work has led to more than a billion dollars in recoveries for his clients.

For two decades, Pennock served as chair of one of Weitz & Luxenberg’s national litigation practice groups. He was directly responsible for leading a large national litigation department covering all aspects of litigation, from inception through trial. He has served as lead plaintiffs’ counsel, plaintiff steering committee member, and liaison counsel in numerous state and federal multidistrict litigation (MDL) mass tort cases.

Tyler is a homegrown THL hero, having joined us after clerking at THL while attending Saint Louis University School of Law. Tyler was born and raised in Madison County, IL. He attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development with a concentration in public policy. While at Vanderbilt, Tyler was not only on Dean’s list and several academic societies but also was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and was a disc jockey for the college radio station WRVU. It was during his undergraduate years that Tyler learned he wanted to pursue justice for those injured by dangerous drugs and medical devices, as he was an intern for attorneys Tor, Steve, and Eric.

Working as a young lawyer at one of the country’s top litigation firms, Kim Channick was asked to join a trial team. She leapt at the chance and has never looked back. During her six years of practice, Kim has served on six trial teams in increasingly senior roles. Each case was tried to verdict and resulted in complete victories for her clients. Kim has expertise in all aspects of trial strategy and preparation, from bellwether selection through closing arguments. Kim has experience in taking depositions, vetting and preparing witnesses, drafting motions for all stages of litigation, and leading large trial teams in complex, high stakes cases. She has second chaired numerous witnesses at trial and provided strategic counsel for opening and closing arguments.

Caitlyn Prichard Miller joined the firm as an associate in 2017. Caitlyn graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Food and Resource Economics. She then attended law school at the University of Alabama School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Scholar and Member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Caitlyn was also a national semi-finalist for the American Bar Association’s Moot Court competition, Communications Editor for the Alabama Law Review, and President of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society. She also completed an Externship for The Honorable R. David Proctor on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Patrick Luff is a nationally recognized litigator who has obtained a number of significant victories for his clients, including a $15.4 million wrongful death judgment and a precedent-setting federal appeal. Patrick has served as Co-Liaison (Lead) Counsel in Texas MDL No. 2021-41903, In re: Winter Storm Uri Litigation, and on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in MDL No. 2974, In re: Paragard IUD Products Liability Litigation. In March 2021, Patrick also filed the initial motion to transfer in MDL No. 3004, In re: Paraquat Products Liability Litigation, and continues to play a leading role in the paraquat litigation nationally.
