Xenadrine Caused Woman's Fatal Heart Attack, Alabama Suit Alleges

GREENVILLE, Ala. - The husband of a woman who died after taking an ephedra-containing dietary supplement has sued the manufacturers and several others claiming they made and marketed a product they knew was defective. Gregory v. Cytodyne Technologies Inc., No. CV-01-197 (Ala. Dist. Ct., Butler Cty.)

The lawsuit was filed Nov. 29 in Butler County Circuit Court and seeks compensatory and punitive damages as a result of the defendants' alleged failure to inadequately warn of, and test for, dangerous side effects associated with the Xenadrine RFA-1 dietary supplement. The lawsuit has since been removed to federal court.
