Defendant Wants Lone Pine Order for Seroquel Claims

ORLANDO, Fla. - Saying that it hopes to weed out the "free-riders" by doing so, the defendant in the Seroquel litigation is asking the court to enter a Lone Pine order forcing plaintiffs to file a report that verifies their alleged injury and its link to the drug. In re: Seroquel Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1769 (M.D. Fla.).
AstraZeneca filed the motion Oct. 29 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, claiming that plaintiffs have begun forcing settlement talks in the nearly 5,760 cases on file, despite failing to completely investigate the majority of claims.
