TAMPA, Fla. - The magistrate judge overseeing discovery in the Accutane MDL has denied the Plaintiffs Steering Committee's motion to compel supplemental discovery related to a psychiatric warning and an FDA alert regarding the acne drug's effect on the brain. In re: Accutane Products Liability Litigation, [No. 8:04-md-2523] MDL No. 1626 (M.D. Fla.).

The PSC filed its motion to compel on Aug. 25, saying the Food and Drug Administration updated Accutane's (isotretinion) label on Aug. 12 to include psychiatric, suicide and violence/aggression warnings.
