EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - A Pennsylvania woman sued AstraZeneca on Oct. 24, claiming that the company's Crestor cholesterol drug was responsible for her mother's death. Koenig v. AstraZeneca. No. 3:05-cv-00770 (S.D. Ill.).
Alexis Koenig sued AstraZeneca in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, claiming her mother, Amira Micklin, died as a result of consuming Crestor (rosuvastatin).
Koenig says her mother began taking 20mg daily doses of Crestor in 2003, which caused her to develop microscopic hematuria. On Oct. 24, 2003, Micklin was admitted to the hospital after a fall. Doctors found blood in her …
