Accutane MDL Court Says Emory University Must Produce PET Scan Data

TAMPA, Fla. - The magistrate judge presiding over discovery in the Accutane (isotretinion) MDL said on Oct. 21 that Emory University must provide the complete documents from a study an expert witness relied upon in a similar lawsuit to show how the acne drug affects the brain. In re: Accutane Products Liability Litigation. Case No. 8:04-md-02523. MDL No. 1626 (M.D. Fla.).

Dr. Douglas Bremner of Emory University previously relied on his positron emission tomography scan study as an expert witness in Bishop, et al. v. F. Hoffman-La Roche Inc., et al. (No. 02-1533 [D. Ga.]), the Plaintiffs Steering Committee said.
