Bayer Removes Cipro Case to D.C. Federal Court

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Bayer Corp. removed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia a Maryland woman's lawsuit alleging injuries from use of the company's Cipro antibiotic. Glickman , et al. v. Bayer Corp., et al. No. 1:05-cv-02046 (D. Columbia).

Sherill Glickman sued Bayer Corp., Bayer AG Corp., Bayer Healthcare, Bayer Pharmaceuticals Corp. and 'John Doe' corporations in the District of Columbia Superior Court (No. 05-6217) on Oct. 18.

Glickman says she was prescribed Cipro in 2001 to treat chronic acute diverticulitis. She underwent colon resection surgery in January 2002, and by August, she says, she developed …
