Iowa Couple Files $25 Million Suit Against Eli Lilly, Sales Representative

DES MOINES, Iowa - An Iowa couple has filed a $25 million lawsuit against Eli Lilly claiming that the husband's use of Zyprexa caused him to develop diabetes three months after taking the atypical antipsychotic. Wendell Jay Dickerson and Alice Dickerson v. Eli Lilly Co., et al., No. 03-CV-70149 (S.D. Iowa, Eastern Div.).

The suit, which was filed Nov. 25, 2003 in the District Court of Van Buren County, states that Lilly and a number of its sales representatives negligently withheld information regarding the drug's association with the development of diabetes.
