RENO, Nev. — A Nevada federal judge has awarded DePuy Synthes Sales Inc. summary judgment in a lawsuit targeting its Synthes Locking System, finding the plaintiff failed to prove that the device was defectively designed and manufactured or accompanied by inadequate warnings.

In an Aug. 26 order, Judge Robert C. Jones of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada also refused to exclude the testimony of the plaintiff’s treating doctors, who opined that the plaintiff ignored medical device by putting weight on his leg.
