Pa. Man Says Arthrex Negligently Marketed Recalled iBalance Knee to Surgeons

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Pennsylvania man has sued Arthrex Inc. in federal court, alleging its since-recalled iBalance knee replacement device failed after being implanted, requiring him to undergo revision surgery.

In an Aug. 8 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the plaintiff says Arthrex failed to adequately warn consumers of the hazards associated with the iBalance knee and did not perform adequate testing of the device before promoting it to surgeons.
