N.J. High Court Creates Centralized Docket for Taxotere Hair Loss Cases

TRENTON, N.J. — The New Jersey Supreme Court has created a centralized docket for cases in which thousands of women allege Sanofi-Aventis’ breast cancer drug Taxotere caused them to develop permanent hair loss.

According to the court’s Aug. 15 notice to the bar, Judge James F. Hyland of the Middlesex County Superior Court will oversee the multicounty litigation, which is comprised of 353 pending cases.

The lawsuits, filed in various New Jersey state courts, involve claims by women who claim they developed permanent hair loss (alopecia) after being treated with Taxotere (docetaxel) for breast cancer. They have asserted product liability …
