NEW ORLEANS - The judge overseeing the national coordinated docket for Xarelto lawsuits has ordered that 1,200 cases accusing Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer AG of defectively designing its anticoagulant drug be prepared for trial in federal district courts around the country.
In a Feb. 27 case management order, Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said that the cases will be selected in two groups of 600 cases each. Within each group of 600 lawsuits, each side will select 200 cases, and the court will randomly select the remaining 200 cases.
