Texas Jury Awards More than $1 Billion Total to Plaintiffs in 6 Separate Cases at Conclusion of Pinnacle Hip Implant Trial

DALLAS –– A Texas jury has awarded more than $1 billion total to six separate plaintiffs at the conclusion of a consolidated trial against DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. and Johnson & Johnson, during which jurors heard claims relating to the company’s allegedly defective Pinnacle Hip Implant.

The verdict is the second multi-million plaintiff verdict entered against the company in a total of three trials that have gone forward in the federal multidistrict litigation docket.
