SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Product liability and negligence claims asserted against Pfizer in connection with its arthritis drug Celebrex are barred by California’s two-year statute of limitations because plaintiffs were aware of the cause of their alleged injuries as early as November 2012, a federal judge has ruled.

In a Dec. 23 order, Magistrate Judge Allison Claire of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California further ruled that the plaintiffs’ loss of consortium claim is also time-barred, but she allowed the plaintiffs to amend their claim to specify when the alleged damage occurred.
