Zoloft MDL Judge Allows PSC to Present Expert Testimony of Jewell Over Pfizer’s Objection

PHILADELPHIA — The judge overseeing the Zoloft birth defect multidistrict litigation has allowed the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee to present the testimony of Nicholas Jewell Ph.D., ruling that although the PSC presented the witness after the Daubert hearing had been held, Pfizer has not been prejudiced.

In a Jan. 7 order, Judge Cynthia M. Rufe of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania found that had the PSC presented Jewell earlier, Pfizer would be in the same position with regard to the question of the admissibility of the testimony.
