Settlement Reached in Bellwether DePuy ASR XL Hip Implant Case

SAN FRANCISCO — A settlement has been reached in the bellwether DePuy ASR hip implant case that was set for trial later this month in San Francisco Superior Court.

According to documents filed Oct. 1, the parties have two months to file a request to dismiss the case of Robert Eugene Ottman, whose claim against DePuy Orthopaedics was expected to be the first DePuy ASR XL hip implant case to be tried in the coordinated California proceedings.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, however, the settlement was confirmed by a statement issued from the law firm representing Ottman.
