MDL Judge Postpones Trial of Yasmin/Yaz Case; Orders Mediation

BENTON, Ill. - An Illinois federal judge has postponed a scheduled trial of a bellwether Yaz/Yasmin injury case against Bayer AG and ordered all parties involved in the multidistrict litigation to meet with a mediator to discuss possible settlements. In re Yasmin and Yaz (Drospirenone) Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2100 (S.D. Ill.).
Judge David Herndon of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois explained that "the interests of this litigation, plaintiffs and defendants, will be better served by an alternate plan."
