HARTFORD, Conn. — Unilever has settled a Connecticut federal class action alleging that the company knew its dry shampoo products (DSPs) could contain high levels of benzene but failed to warn consumers or initiate a timely recall of the products.
The parties filed a joint notice of settlement and request for a 60-day extension before Judge Michael P. Shea of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut on Feb. 20, explaining that the parties have reached an agreement in principle to settle the claims.
