5 States Seek Federal Docket for ‘Insulin Pricing Scheme’ Actions




WASHINGTON, D.C. — Five states have asked the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to create a federal docket for lawsuits accusing insulin manufacturers and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) of artificially inflating the price of insulin in order to their increase profit margins and reap kickback payments.

In a May 9 motion, Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi and Montana said the five actions should be transferred to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, arguing they involve nearly identical facts and are at an early stage of pretrial proceedings.
