JPML Refuses to Create MDL Docket for TikTok Browser Privacy Lawsuits

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has refused to create an MDL docket for class actions accusing social media platform TikTok of using an “in-app” browser” to illegally intercept every detail of users’ activities on third-party websites.

On April 7, the panel explained that the actions fall within the scope of an existing MDL concerning the TikTok app—MDL No. 2948, In re TikTok, Inc., Consumer Privacy Litigation.
