JPML Asked to Create MDL Docket for CARES Act Violation Claims Against JPMorgan Chase

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– A spa has asked the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to create a multidistrict litigation docket for claims against JPMorgan Chase, citing the growing number of class action lawsuits accusing the company of violating state laws by failing to follow the Small Business Association’s rules relating to the Federal Paycheck Protection Program.

The May 1 petition told the JPML that each of at least nine putative nationwide class action lawsuits say the bank failed to process application for funding under the CARES Act on a “first-come, first served basis.”
