Several School Districts Take Aim at JUUL for ‘Addicting a Generation of Youth to Nicotine’

SEATTLE –– Several school districts across the country have filed complaints against JUUL Labs Inc., accusing the company of marketing e-cigarettes to minors and causing a “youth vaping epidemic.”

The complaints, filed recently in Washington, New York, Missouri, and Kansas federal courts, all allege that the defendant “took a bag from big tobacco’s playbook,” marketing its e-cigarette products as “trend-setting, stylish and used by the types of people teenagers look up to.”

According to one of the complaints, schools have been “uniquely and disproportionately” affected by JUUL’s conduct, with educators forced to expend “significant resources to combat JUUL use by …
